Etched Mats

Etched Mats

Postby mmhockeyfan » May 30th, 2016, 11:35 am

Hi All,

Should I expect the blade to lightly etch my mats even if I use appropriate blade depth and pressure? Or should I strive for a pristine mat each time?

Thanks

It will lightly etch your mat, but you shouldn't be able to feel it with your fingernail - like a cut. The light etching is the blade cutting through the adhesive layer - totally normal. If you look at pictures that have been posted with mats you will see that they are not pristine. Just be sure to clean it periodically and reapply the Renu as needed.

OH gosh no!! The mats last a very long time as long as you are careful not to cut into them or through them..... yes, most of us have done one or the other at some point!
