I made a quilt for my friend that she intends to gift to her mother. In high school she made a quilt top constructed from fabric from garments her mother made for her. It sat for some 30-35 years. I helped my friend make this into a quilt.
The design was traced from a heart template I took right out of SCAL and cut on the cat. We altered the heart shape a bit to fit the blocks. The cat and SB are really good for cutting templates. I made mine out of thin cardboard, and I popped out the center to be able to see what I am doing. I simply cut multiple ones, and stacked them and adhered them together to be able to make a useable template for tracing onto fabric for the quilt design.
I will be using the CAT much more for stuff like this. The crayola ultra clean markers really wash off without a problem. Because I have a wonderful, predictable marker, I can get into tracing quilt designs much more.
The label was done by another friend on her embroidery machine. Someday I might do embroidery, but I have enough to do trying to get quilting experience.
Hope everyone is well for the holiday.
