Welding/Merging - Help

Postby blbolinger » July 7th, 2015, 4:17 pm

I am attempting to weld or merge this font....it doesn't appear to be working when I click Merge..maybe merge is not the option I want? Can someone help guide me to get this task complete. I have attached the 2 letters that are connected and need merging. Thanks in advance!

There is nothing attached. And you don't want to merge - you want to weld which is on the right hand bar under the wrench. You can go through the help menu in the software and that explains it fully - you can weld or do a union. Assuming they are connected (you usually have to break the letters apart, move them together so they are overlapping, and then I usually group and then weld. Then if you click on the preview tab on the top of the software bar, it will show you that they are connected even though it will not look that way on the virtual mat.

Hope that helps. Without a picture it is hard to see what you might be missing but hope it's just a matter of clicking the right option.

Here is a tutorial on the Craftedge website - there is a LOT of information there...

Scroll down to Creating - #5. That should help.
