So far I am just loading programs onto it and finding features that I didn't know it had, like I don't have to startup Windows to browse the Web and get email. I also didn't have to load the CD's for the drivers to the printers as it found it thru the wireless network. Also set up my email for me (found it somehow) after typing in my email address and password. The thing that excites me so much about this laptop is I wanted a Wacom tablet soooooo bad, but trying to draw on something that I can't "see" was daunting. This is like drawing on a piece of paper. And, of course, I love my touchscreen pc, so have been wanting the same for my laptop. It gets to be a habit and would always get confusing when using my laptop and when I touched the screen, nothing happened. Sort of like getting new contacts lenses after wearing glasses for so long....you keep trying to push up your glasses, but they aren't there anymore.
The new little "notebooks" that they have now are so small (which is great for some people) but I find that when I am doing something to a file, that I want the bigger screen. This screen is 12", which is as small as I want to get. And I love that I still have my keyboard attached. It will be interesting to try and use it as a notepad, taking notes and see how it does that. The other issue is that the new notebooks usually only have one USB port which I can't live with just one. I have a hard time with the three that comes on the other laptops and always have to add a USB hub to get more ports and that is with having a lot of my stuff being wireless.
This will definately make learning how to manipulate nodes and designing cut files a lot more fun.
