I have that set, and made one of the octagon boxes, just to see what it would look like and how it would go together.
I like the set, because the sides are a separate file, instead of all one, so you can make a huge box if you wanted to, and put each piece on a different paper, instead of it all having to fit on one.
I didn't care for the tabs showing either, but unless the file had the top and sides, and bottom and sides as all one piece, there would be tabs. Then you would be limited to how large a box you can make based on what you can fit on your paper. So for me, I will deal with the tabs to have the option to make larger boxes.
I also thought about making a lining, to put on the bottom and top to at least hide the tabs there. And if I could think of a way to do it for the sides, then not only would it hide the tabs, but it would help strengthen the box. But then it would use twice the amount of paper.
I always have a hard time making any 3D project, I guess I just need to do more of them, and they will get easier, like anything else.
I like that you used different paper for the top and sides...I thought you may have just taken a square of paper and guled it to the top to make it different. I think I may have to make some more of these boxes and have some fun decorating them. Just don't know what I would use them for just yet.
