Isn't it ridiculous that companies are so non-responsive? We want info to possibly buy their product, and they respond with gibberish! So glad we don't have that problem here!

I have really been happy with the slice spray. I guess the slice, uses glass plates and it only takes a fairly good once over spray for the mat to be tacky, and it has held up to a lot of cutting this week.

OK - I got feedback from 3M on which is the right product sold in the USA that matches the SM200 (the UK product)

With permission of 3M - I am re-posting the email from them:

There really isn't a typical - depend on how much you put on and what media you are using. I prefer a really light spray, so maybe only as much as five or six sheets of media before I spray again - but a can lasts me months and months

I use the Aileenes..but I dilute to 60/40. 50/50 is way to sticky. I also have Krylons spray, it is okay, but I have to do it more often than the aileens.

I agree Dana - when I think about it my mixture probably is closer to 60/40 - I don't measure - just pour til it's thin and easy to use.

And the stickiness does last a LONG time.....

I have to thank Beanie for this one! I can't find this stuff here and she sent me a whole bottle and gave me the dilution amounts. I have some premixed in a little bottle. Sometimes I just swipe it on an area that I have been cutting on over and over and leave the rest of the mat alone. It dries quick too.

I agree with Beanie the tack it over stuff works real well. Alot of people I know use a foam brush to apply it. My SIL always gives me really good tips for making stuff. She does alot of cardmaking. Now to convert her! Can't seem to get her out of trying the other way instead of always carts. Who know's someday!

Maybe I put it on too heavy but the Aileen's mixture (mine was more 60/40 or less) made mine way too sticky. I may have applied it too heavy since it did have puddles on the mat before drying.

Has anyone used the Cricut Cake mats in the Cougar. I know you have to lay down some adhesive since they don't have any but are they too thin for the Cougar? I found a pack on clearance for a steal at HL yesterday and thought they might work in either the Cougar or Silhouette.

I think the cougar mats are a little thinner than the cricut mats to begin with. So they might work better. So very jealous, our nearest HL is over 4 hours away.

Suzan, I was surprised to see those mats since I don't recall even seeing the Cricut Cake machine there before, but of course, I have never been interested in that product to begin with so I might have missed it. Evidently, they don't carry it anymore. I love HL but wish they would take competitor's coupons. Thanks for the info, I did not notice that the Cougar mats were thinner; but I've only used my Cougar mat once (saving it for a rainy day, I suppose). The cm's confuse me when I'm trying to place my paper on the mat, I know Tyler made inch marks on his and did a video, guess I should do that.

Well there isn't that much of a difference, it is pretty small.

Just an FYI, I sprayed the Cricut Cake mat with my repositionable spray and it works great. Worth the $2 per mat that I spent on them.

I recently received a coupon in the mail from Office Depot for $15 off a $25 purchase. So I went there the other day, just to see if there was anything I needed, and they had the 3M Spray Mount ($14.99 a can) So I got that, and a few other things, spent just over $25 and my total was just under $14. I haven't tried it yet, but when I need to resticky my mats, I will be prepared.

I have used the zig two way glue pen before this, and I always seemed to get too much glue on my mats and made them too sticky.... so looking forward to trying this spray.
