Large Vinyl project and good places to buy vinyl

Large Vinyl project and good places to buy vinyl

Postby customcreations » October 11th, 2014, 2:42 pm

Hi there,

I just got a job to cut 48" x 13" pieces of vinyl for a clothing company in Denver. Their logo is mostly writing and then has a large arrow that goes all the way through it. I have cut small pieces of vinyl before and when I got to about 15" long my vinyl always starts to go sideways. Anybody have any advise as to how to keep my vinyl from slipping sideways on these very large jobs.

These jobs will be on indoor vinyl.

My other question is: Does anyone have suggestions on where to buy great quality vinyl for an affordable price online? I am currently going through Signwarehouse.com as they have what I think I need. I am concerned though about how my cutter is going to roll these larger pieces through...

US Cutters, is really good. Total shipping is always 9.95, and I have always found their prices great for rolls.

As for the skewing, Make sure all the rollers are down if you can. And I put mine on and with my buttons I go back a forth a long way to make sure it doesn't skew before I cut, and lift the rollers and adjust until it is right. I also unroll the roll quite a bit behind my machine so it isn't pulling it off, but I don't have that machine on the stand, my other cutter is right now.

I used Suzan's tips for my first large vinyl project, and found that they worked really well, I got it all cut with no problems at all! (However, on my next small project, I forgot to reverse my image, and had to recut it. :hide: )

I hate hate hate when I do that, I was doing birthday shirts and cut not once but three times, the names and numbers that went on the back the wrong way.

So happy to know that I am not the only one! At least mine was a one of a kind item, so I only did it once. But of course it was on the large back panel, and not the tiny front one!
