Have you tried unscrewing the little screw a bit to see it you can't get it loose. I noticed with my cricut the little push thing once in a great while would stick a little.

Nope - It did not help.

It feels like it is stuck on a ledge inside or something..
Is that possible?

Trying to understand. Is it all the way inside? Have you tried using tweezers to pull it out? and the plunger doesn't help?
Still thinking.......

I ironically I did try tweezers
- since the plunger would not move
but I could not grasp the blade it was too far in

Then to my surprise I pushed on the plunger one last time and
the bottom exploded apart

I have amazing luck with this thing :ROFLMBO:

Oh no! Can you use your original blade holder 'til you get it fixed?
