Print and Cut - Part 1 and 2 w/ MTC

Part I

Alright in this tutorial I'm going to show you how you can set yourself up for a Print and Cut with Make the Cut. So we're going to go over the basics from Getting an image -Tracing and Printing all in MTC software. For this tutorial to work we're going to assume that you have a machine that is either laser calibrated so we can do manual 3 point registration or your machine has an optic sensor that detects the registration marks in order to conduct print and cuts.

Part II

Ok so this is a continuation of the Print and Cut Series with Make the Cut. This lesson will go over cutting with the black cat cougar using the 3 point registration. Our laser is already calibrated and you will need to have a calibrated laser in order to do print and cuts.

If you need to calibrate you laser I have a video for that as well...

Thanks Rob, I enjoyed it. Now I might try it with MTC instead of Signcut. I thought it would be so much harder with MTC bit it isn't. I still haven't downloaded the update for my MTC because I lost where it was. I need to find that first.
The updates must change what I have on my MTC because I cut on MTC with the paper the other way around in landscape. I have been using MTC alone to cut lately so I get used to it more and these will help a lot.

I love the updated resizing feature in the new version of MTC. It is so much easier than it used to be!

Thanks Rob for your videos. I have already done PNC with MTC but I always learn something new when I rewatch the videos. I use MTC with my Cougar since the Mac version of Signcut doesnt let me do a PNC without crashing.

Diane,
I went and downloaded the 4 points something one, the latest one and a couple of plug ins. Now which ones do I install? Do I need the plug ins? I am sorry but I am very tired and I can't think just now. I do really appreciate the help I just don't want to install the wrong one. I have never updated my MTC since I got it. :hide:

Kate, You don't need all the plug ins.. just the Klic N Kut (not the one for the zing) to use the 3 point registration with your cougar... and you can use the Cougar plug in for just regular cutting if you want to use MTC. The latest version of MTC is 4.1.0 If you already have the Black Cat plug in, then you don't need to update that.. I don't think he has updated that one lately. If you have any more questions just holler... someone will be able to help.

Thank You! You made it so much clearer. I learned from a bad experience with something else not to always update. I even look nasty at my computer when it wants to do an update now.

Your Welcome... I agree about updates sometimes... I am always a little leery of them... but I also have my very own live in computer geek that can help me, if I do something to mess up my computer. And I can always ask him about something BEFORE I might do something that will mess up my computer... :D
