Blade dragging...So confused

Blade dragging...So confused

Postby KT Krafter » January 24th, 2012, 7:09 pm

Hi everyone-

I'm finally up and running...after WAY too much time spent learning what now seems like is a rather simple machine to run! :ROFLMBO: I am using the 24" Cougar and getting marks where it looks the blade is lightly sliding across the mat. It's not horrible...really HARDLY noticable (it looks as if there are scratches going from one cut to another) But it bugs me and there has GOT to be a solution to this...???

The only thing I could find on these boards is that the problem might be the connection and to use electrical tape to help connect the machine to the computer. Could this really be the problem with a basically BRAND NEW machine? I am not in a hurry to tape on my machine cord if it is something more simple than the connection--maybe more like the blade.

Anyone had this trouble? How do you fix it? Right now I am cutting mostly all vinyl...New mat, blade is a few weeks old but cutting fine other than the dragging.

Thanks for any help
Katie

Did you try raising your blade just a tiny bit? You didn't say which blade holder you are using, but try to raise your blade and see if that helps, but still gives you your cuts.

I will give that a try. I am using the blade holder that came with the machine--NOT the click holder. But I think I can change the debth of the blade a bit and see how that works.

Thanks

That was my first thought as well - that your blade might be dragging. Hope that is the solution as it is certainly a simple one and I think most of us have experienced that during the learning phases! Please keep us posted.

Thanks everyone. . .think I got it now. Just brought it up a bit so not so much of the blade was showing. Cuts through perfect and doesn't drag. Don't know why I didn't think of that in the first place. ;) Awesome!!!

Thanks
