Help Please.

Postby kate3 » January 6th, 2012, 3:07 am

I know this is going to sound stupid but I can't think today. All I want to draw is the outline of a heart in Inkscape. I need it to be around 3" wide and 2" high with the centre cut out.
I don't know if it the throbbing in my leg where my GP cut it yesterday or the headache I have from it but I really can't think. I have been trying to do this for a card for over 3 hours and I have done this many times. Please can someone help even if it is in MTC I don't mind. I can change to my MTC computer. Thank you.
I think I just realised the problem. I missed 3 lots of medication I have to take for a week. See? Brain damage! Stress? I need help.

Hi Kate,

In MTC, put two hearts from basic shapes on your mat. Shrink one, stack them, (control a then s) and use bolean join (control u) to remove the smaller heart from the larger. Which join option you use depends on which heart is on top. It should be either a from b or b from a. I have attached the one I did quickly, in case you don't want to bother with making your own.

Hope you're feeling better really soon!!

Thank you Rachellann and Elizabeth. I took my medication or one lot of it and slept for a couple of hours. Then I knew how to do it but I am so happy you did it for me, I could just hug you.
Would you believe for 3 hours I was trying to make a heart without drawing it first. Then moving the nodes. I was so out of it I was trying to make a circle into a heart and other really stupid things. I ended up crying all over my computer so I thought I would post for help. After I had a rest my brain was working again. Why do these things happen when I am in a hurry?

Thank you Phyllis. I feel so much better today.

Retta, I was very tired and I didn't understand why I had to take medication for a week. I called my GP and I am taking it now. It is just an anti-biotic with something else in it but I shouldn't have reacted to it by missing a few doses. She said to just take it for the week anyway because one of the places she tried to freeze has been infected already. She doesn't want the stitches to do that too so I am being good.
