pen drawing then contour cutting question

pen drawing then contour cutting question

Postby riogirl71 » December 7th, 2011, 2:37 pm

Might be a silly question but what is the best way to do a drawing using the pen holder tool then cutting the outline of it, same thing for embossing. The pen uses a blade offset of 0 and blade of .30. Do you send it from inkscape and signcut as two different colors and then "cut" with the pen at offset 0, then send the next color to cut with blade offset .30 and blade for the contour? Will the cougar go back to the initial origin to cut again and contour it? Sorry if this is such a silly question, newbie here!

I would do a print and cut. Make the pen drawing one color then do the cut in another color. Replace the tools each time. If you have registration marks and line them up each time, in theory, they should be pretty close.

Hi Tyler,
Thanks for the tip. I tried tracing with two different pens yesterday and sending to signcut as two different colors, worked great, haven't tried cutting yet...
