New mat--blade placement?

I've been using my new mats, and they work beautifully--nice and flat and uniformly sticky
Since it's only 11.7 (or something like that) inches across, how do I know exactly where to set the laser for my starting point for WISIWIG cutting in MTC? I used to put it at the intersection of the last line and down 2 inches, but now that doesn't work.

Steph, have you tried using knife point with the KNK plug-in? Just recently tried this and i'm lovin it. I can tell it exactly where to cut with no problems.
