Silver Bullet cuts fleece!

Silver Bullet cuts fleece!

Postby allorache » December 20th, 2013, 10:15 pm

Well, I haven't used my SB much. I mainly bought it to cut fabric for applique. I was using felt and it cut great but after a few washings it gets fuzzy. So, I finally decided to try fleece. I'm making a fleece scarf for my stepdaughter for Xmas and I didn't want to embroider because then you have the backing on the other side. The SB cut the fleece beautifully.

If anyone's interested, I used much the same method as I did with felt: iron heat'n'bond lite on the back, peel off the paper backing and put the sticky side on the mat. I used a 60 extra long blade, velocity 350, force 140, no multi cut.

Someday I will branch out to vinyl....

WOW, I never would have thought it could cut fleece!! That looks awesome, would love to see a picture of it on the scarf. If you can cut felt and fleece, vinyl should be a piece of cake for you.

That's awesome! Thanks for sharing your results. As Diane says, vinyl will be a breeze after cutting fabric.

Very nice! I like the contrast edging. ( I really need to fire up my serger. I haven't used it for a couple of years. :hide: )

Pat, I first glue basted the applique (learned about this on a quilter's board, even though I don't quilt) -- you just use regular white school glue and let it sit overnight. Doesn't gum up your needles and washes out. Then I just used a straight stitch to sew it in place.
