4-ply Framing Mat Attachment Status...

About 8 months ago in a related Forum - I think MTC - there was discussion that while at the time for the most part cutting 4-ply framing material was out of the question, there was work being done on a new tool that was designed for this kind of application (keeping in mind of course that differing manufacturers' materials might be too tough).

I am wondering now that it is the end of July what the latest word is on this as this is something that significantly affects whether I purchase a Cougar and if so the size?

Tied to this question is: With the right software, can I cut something that the outside dimension is 24x36"? I know not all of the compatible software goes this large. I noted on the UK distributor that the largest cutting mat was I think 28.5" so this is why I am curious.

Thank you.

Hi, the tool is still in development.

With the right software you can cut any length you want. The width is limited to 24" so you would have to have your media placed exactly right to get the 24" width cut - but yes it is technically possible

I still want a pricking tool....... PLEASE???? I know I know.... you have been hearing this from me for years!! But with sewing on cards being even more the rage, it would be awesome to be able to prick the holes.

Reminding you nicely.........NO pressure!
