Scal is different than MTC and does take some time to get used to while it does not communiate from my windows 7 to the cougar right it it does to the us mh871 without issue. now with the laptop and it is running vista it does wok to the Cougar, I like some things but others i son't it is the same with all software there will be some. I will use each and everyone to find the best of each.And yep I will wait for Dawns software to add that to my computer and enjoy all as long as i can.

Karen, DS stands for Design Studio. It's the Provo Craft program that works with Cricut.

Well, I finally purchased SCAL3 from

$25.00 off. I still have to wait for the cd to come before I can install and play around with it, but I'm looking forward to not having to totally depend on MTC. Still excited about the new BC software but December is still a long way off and I am just impatient...LOL

I have cut a little with it, I really have messed a whole lot. It seemed to do ok. I used to use scal all the time, so now I just have to re-familiarize my self.

Connie, congrats on your SCAL3 purchase. I have had SCAL from the very beginning but when MTC came out I started using it but hate that MTC doesn't have a Mac version and I am trying hard to eliminate my PC programs, MTC is the only one left (well I still have DS but does that count?). I have been trying to re-familiarize myself with SCAL also.

Is everyone that had SCAL3 problems all fixed now? I didn't go back and read all the posts.

Well at least you started with SCAL so I'm sure it's easier for you to use. I have been playing around with the SCAL2 and the bounding box or what's around the image reminds me of CDS. What I like is that it has the node editing right in the software. I still will have to practice lots!

Connie, I'm not a master of any of my software programs, I piddle more than I design but I'm trying very hard to learn more since I got my Cougar.

I have cut a bit more from SCAL3. Still trying to learn my way around but getting there. Matter of fact I did a video last night cutting from SCAL3 to the cougar.

What I don't like is it doesn't cut where it's suppose to. Not a huge issue as I can just use the laser (it needs a laser registration option as well but Todd is working on it) but I'd still like to figure it out. One of these days when I have time.LOL

Phyllis I have no issues cutting from SCAL3 to my cougar honey.
