I have used scal3 and the cougar no problems yet except had to change the over cut to .20 instead of .30

does anyone know the interior file that goes with the cricut? I wonder if I can pull that out and insert it like in MTC so that i could still use it if necessary....

Thanks everybody - still waiting on SCAL support - guess they have been swamped with the news of the pull of SCAL 1 and SCAL 2 along with no Cricut support either. : ( I will wait patiently for them to get back to me. Just wondered if anyone else had encountered the problem and figured out a fix for it. Won't get much time to play with it tomorrow but maybe on Thursday.

I have SCAL. My main gripe is that you can only register it on 2 computers I will do some testing and see if I can't get back to ya.

So the over cut should be .20, where and how do you get the paper set up properly, and the mat. What size do you set your mat at, and then where do you put the paper. I tested cutting never got to the mat and placement part. Thanks in advance.

where can I find my serial # so I can download SCAL3? I have SCAL2....

Lisa, my serial# was sent to me via email, do you still have the email from SCAL2?

Lisa - I had mine from the email that I had saved with it on it. (I always keep a copy on the computer and print out a copy). However, scal support can also get that and resend it to you. They sent mine when I asked them about changing my old email address they had still on file. Their email addy is support@craftedge.com.

I still haven't heard back from their support yet regarding my Cougar not being recognized. Guess I need to send them a followup email in case it got lost in the no longer supporting C#$@%* mess the past couple of days.

Thanks Tyler for your offer of help. If I can get it to work with the Cougar I will probably get the license for the MAC so I can use my Mac laptop. I think that I will have to buy a new, separate license for the MAC version unfortunately. Still haven't had time to sit down and try the trial version on the Mac. Maybe tomorrow.

I will also go look for Dawn's Tutorial she has posted and see if that will help me. Thanks everybody.

If you go to the help menu (at least in other programs - I don't have SCAL) and click about the serial number is listed there at least it is in SignCut.

got it...they re-sent it to my email per request....now I've just gotta change my email addy with them...they have my old one, which surprises me I could even get into...LOL

You find it under Help and then About.
However, the link to upgrade to 3 is timing out for me.

now I just have to remember how to use it....lol

Well I just got SCAL 2 today and man it is sooo different. I'll have to watch some videos to learn it.

Yes you will want to upgrade, Scal 2 won't cut to the Cougar

I have SCAL 1, and never updated it, as I found MTC about the same time that SCAL 2 came out, and I didn't want to pay for SCAL again, since I didn't use it much before. I don't even think I have SCAL loaded on my computer although I still have the install file. Would I be able to download SCAL 3 and use it with my reg number from SCAL 1? Or would I have to purchase it to get all the latest features of SCAL?

That's good to know because I was going to try SCAL 2 next since SCAL 3 was not working, well I got 1 cut with it before it decided it wasn't going to cut anymore. I will try more attempts today. My MTC (not latest version) is working great but I really really want SCAL 3 to work since it's a Mac version.

I am going to contact Brandon about this.
In the meantime, If it crashes, it should write a log file (SCAL_BlackCatLog.txt) to your Desktop. can you send me that file

I just got SCAL 3 for the cougar Last night. I haven't had much time to play with it but I have cut to it once with no issues. I don't like that it doesn't have a laser option but LOVE that it has a cougar mat and that you can type ON the mat. That's awesome. Will try and play more this afternoon.
