Detail blade

Detail blade

Question. I have detail blade and it says to put the spring on. Apparently, the springs are already on. My question is how do you remove the plastic cover without damaging the spring?

Sometimes the spring comes off the blade. I don't understand what plastic you are talking about. You just unscrew the bottom of the detail blade holder, insert the blade with the spring and screw it back together. You just want to be sure you don't lose the little spring so you might want to put a piece of white paper or foam, so you can see the spring if it falls off.
