Object went off screen - cannot recover file

Postby curtisriver2 » April 10th, 2016, 9:21 am

I spent 8 hours building a file and I accidently put in a the wrong value when positioning one of the objects at 448in. I can not get back to the object. I tried increasing the mat size but it would only allow me to go to 72in. I can see the object in the preview but I can not get to it an in way. The file since has gone corrupt and causes my software to crash every time I try to open it. I still have a backup copy I can open but I think its the object out there at 448in.

I have version 3.071 (Sure Cuts A lot Software).

Does anyone know how to save my file?

Did you zoom out on the view so you can grab it that way? I have accidentally moved things out of sight (no idea what the value was) and was able to grab it by zooming out. Even if you only see a piece of it, you can then hit Control A to select all of it and grab it back in....... hope that works....

It only allows you to zoon out to the mat size with the normal zoom option, but I found that if you "Select All" under the edit menu and then do View / Zoom Selection it will show it all and allow you to select the object to delete.

I am using SCAL 4 so perhaps that is the difference but I can zoom out WAY past the size of the mat....... are you using the zoom tool in the software?
