Blade not meeting at some corners

Blade not meeting at some corners

Postby tamihowse » May 26th, 2015, 8:53 am

Can anyone tell me why my blade is not meeting at the corner in this pic? It is doing it fairly consistently on files that I have cut many times before and never had this problem. I have a new blade. Fondly, Tami

Hi Tami -

Have you accidentally changed any settings? I would do a machine reset just to be safe. Sometimes that corrects a wide variety of things... And double check your offset setting.....

OK, Gigi, but what should me offset setting be? I don't know that I've ever played with that. Fondly, Tami

What are you cutting?

Per Dawn, these are the numbers:

There are set figures for the blade offsets
0.25mm for the standard blades
0.6mm for the detail blades
0.7mm for the 60plus blade

I'm cutting my stencil plastic. I usually do two passes. Honestly, though, I'm not sure which blade is in the carrier. I'll check it and play with some more settings and let you know. Thanks for your faithfulness, Gigi!!! Fondly, Tami

Dawn posted that on here a while ago. I keep things like that in OneNote (love that program) so I can easily retrieve things like that and not rely on my memory!

Thanks Penny and Tami - hope it is helpful Tami.

Something that came to my mind was it wasn't the offset rather the overcut setting. The overcut may be the cause of this.

There's the overcut setting in the cut menu of SCAL and that is what I would try changing.
