LOL :ROFLMBO: I have no idea what I want :D I just know it when I see it. I'm thinking probably some simple piecing to create depth and interest??

Ahhhh..how about a barnwood planks digi paper, and cutting file paper piecing? Maybe the piecing itself could be the barnwood design? Then, of course, around here there are the rusty metal roofs an the old barns, complete with rusted out holes and bent-up tattered edges. Gosh, you know, this has promise! Whaddayathink, Suzan and Kathy?

Most of the time, I am very conscious of the amount of ink used to print stuff like that, though. I would usually rather just cut the brown pieces, and then distress and ink them.

kim wrote:I spend more time making Get Well Soon, Thinking of You and Sympathy cards for my mother. She mails one out to EVERYONE in her church that has even a sniffle (I think). But she keeps my dad and me busy. Dad prints cards from one of the card making programs (mostly for the men), while she sends mine to the women. Mainly because I just don't have any that are really appropriate for the men and I am really running out of things to do with the women.

I have to agree with the above....I am slower to purchase any more "kiddie" stuff as I have a TON. I hate to spend money on rubber stamps....they take up too much room and I have to buy ink pads. I like digital that I can color to match what paper I am working with.

I do some of that, sending Get Wells and Thinking of You more than anything else. I go in spurts for Birthday, too. I have discovered that I can do a rather smallish contour cut of some vintage element, and mount it on a scalloped shape or a pinked edge (which even works for men!) and mount that whole thing onto a large piece to place on a card front. Add a smallish label with the sentiment, and it's good to go. I even do this on shaped cards. It's a fairly easy formula that I can change up several ways and colors, for variety, so people don't feel like they are getting the same card as their friend. I also keep a card log of who I send a card to, for what, and which basic design I used (colors, print name, etc.). So far, so good. (She says with fingers crossed.)

I'm loving the idea of digi papers!! I have a few, but it would be nice to have "kits". Digi papers, digi stamps, cut outs that all go together for a basic theme; such as the barn wood, rusty metal, cut out of a barn, etc. :D
So much paper, so little time....

Sorry - just got a chance to read this. Half the city finally has power back after the 10/29 snowstorm. That storm caused 20 times more damaged than the hurricane to say the least. Hope others in the area are doing well too!

Anyways, just wanted to say good luck Suzan! I think you have a lot of great ideas to work off of!

Can't wait to see what you come up with. I would love to see some vintage/grownup/classic designs also, along with some "man card" items.

I do not have any reason to do "cute" but I do make adult greating cards. I have stayed away for now of the PNC. I need to get that calibrated. I would do digni stamps but most of them are cute as well. I will be looking in to see what is happening.
