Blade offset and vinyl

Blade offset and vinyl

Postby Dana » September 20th, 2011, 7:06 pm

When weeding some vinyl on some intricate curves I'm getting it slightly not cut... do I need to change my blade offset? I'm using the KNK plug in on wysiwyg.

My blade offset is .30mm

no - increase the force a little bit. Knife offset affects where it cuts rather than the depth of it.

That didn't work. I'm using a Roland 60 blade, new click holder on one, the blade is barely showing. When I increase my force, it is now cutting through my backing paper, but still leaving little "chads" if that is what you want to call it. That causes my vinyl to stretch when trying to weed.

For vinyl, I would definitely be using a 45 degree.
