Cougar Virtual mat in Inkscape

Cougar Virtual mat in Inkscape

Postby fairwayflunkie » September 16th, 2011, 7:47 pm

Hi all:

I was watching Penny's video on how to put a virtual mat in Inkscape...a cricut one in this case. I know that Rachellanne has a virtual Cougar mat but that is an MTC file. Can that be opened in Inkscape and set up like Penny did it? If so how do I do it? Color me confused.... ;)

Looks like I have a 16 X 12 mat? (ps aren't we supposed to have an 18" cutting mat with the 18" Cougar?)

Thanks a bunch....

Hi Nancy,

Which video are you referring to?

The mat that is sent out with the machine is the same size for all machines and is provided from the factory. While there are exceptions, most of the time when you are cutting materials larger than 12 inches, it is a material that already has a backing and does not require a mat.

Hope that helps!

I think I know what you want to do. Open inkscape, go to file. Open document properties. Change the both measurments to in or inches. Then put in the measurements you want. ie. 12x12 or 4x6 or or or
