Well - I got over my fear of it tonight! It is the same as regular cutting, same methodology etc., except that if it positioned too far down on the .mtc mat (I guess this is size dependent - not sure - I was cutting an image pretty close to my full 18" on my cougar), it could cause a pause - so I learned to air cut on oversize cutting first - just to make sure. I only had trouble on my largest layer. I got over my little hiccup thanks to Rachellann - who is always willing to lend a quick hand. Even with the little hiccup, I cut three layers in three pieces with no waste of material, which is wonderful!
So I got my basic box cut. Tomorrow will be the decorative layers on the outside - the inside layers are harder because that is where the text comes in - I want/need more time on that. I want to do the outside layers so I have a good idea of what edges will show, because then the painting comes next. My bristol board is a lovely color, but it doesn't match the general theme, so the color does need to be changed. I made a good start tonight and I am very happy. I do promise to post a photo. The finished size of this box will be about 6 1/4" and I think it will make such an impressive presentation! I just hope the hurricane doesn't stop me from attending this event on Sunday after all this work and planning...

EDIT: Oh no! I forgot to do the lid - well - I will just have to do it tomorrow with the other pieces.........
