Please Help This Very Slow Learner!

Postby Sassycutter » August 23rd, 2011, 1:27 pm

I have put the blade in the blue click holder, but I'm not sure how to adjust it before I even put it in the clamp. Does the blade need to barely show and how do I do that. When I release the plunger, it goes up and I can never see it even on setting 6. Also, how do I check to see if my new Cougar laser is even working. I hope these questions make sense. You guys are going to get so tired of me..... :banghead:

Click holder - look between the numbers 2 and 3, you will see a little allen screw. Loosen that off. Push the plunger down and you will see that it exposes a slot for a flathead screwdriver. Turn clockwise to increase the extension. You want to set it so that the blade tip is just showing on number 1. Once you have it how you like it, tighten the allen screw back up.

Laser light - Press the online button so the LCD screen reads offline. Press the menu button so the LCD screen reads Laser on/off. Press the origin button. The laser is no on and you are back on line. Repeat to turn the laser off

Okay, got the laser to work. I just don't get it where this slot is for a flathead screwdriver. I see the little allen screw. I am SO sorry to be so dense :)

You're not dense! (or at least no denser than me!) It took me about 15 minutes to figure out where the slot is! When you depress the plunger, it will now be out of the way of the slot, which is really two slots in the silver circle at the top of the holder. Your standard screwdriver (flathead) will fit right over the plunger. I'm not at home, or I would post a photo for you. I just push the plunger down with the screwdriver, direct it into the slot(s), and turn. Don't worry, all of this will seem easy to you eventually!

OMG - you are NOT dense! Just ask Dawn how many times she had to tell me how to do it - I had loosened the allen screw but could not see the other one - kept pushing the plunger down with my finger which of course hid the slot!! LOL :banghead: :banghead:

So no - no one will get sick of you or your questions. We have all been there in one way or another and want to help!

Thank you all for the replies and answers!!! However, if it can be broken, leave it to me to do it!!! :hide: I don't know what I did, but I can't get the plunger to work at all, so I contacted Dawn and she told me to send it to her. It is in the mail and on its way. I wonder what I can screw up next...
