Blade gouging during cutting

Blade gouging during cutting

Postby vskelley » April 10th, 2020, 3:40 pm

I was cutting HTV (v=160 f=26) and it gets about half way through the project and all of a sudden the machine makes a loud grinding sound and the blade gouges the vinyl diagonally up the mat. I thought it might have been the file I was cutting, but it's done it on three different projects now.

Have you registered the software as it will slash through your projects if you have not done that? Doesnt explain the grinding noise but starting with the simplest issues first. You didn't say if it was working fine before or if these were your first projects so a bit in the dark.....

Yes, I've had my machine for years and this is the first time it's done that. My software is registered. I emailed Sherry and she said to try to reinstall the software and see if that helps. Fingers crossed.

Ok good. I didnt know that's why I started with the very basics. Sorry about that! Glad you emailed Sherri - that was going to be my next suggestion. Fingers crossed here too.

Is your blade in the holder correctly?
I still make the mistake of putting the blade in wrong and I end up with issues like this or where it doesn't cut at all :)
Cheers, printsbery
