Vinyl help for a newbie

Postby LinaCee » October 31st, 2016, 6:52 pm

Hi All, I bought a silver bullet primarily to cut vinyl and I am now at my wits end trying to get the settings correct.
I am cutting small detailed text outlines, and have tried soo many force and velocity variations which have been recommended but just can't seem to get it right.

At V500 F25 the test rectangle cuts perfectly, however when trying to cut my outlines it completely tears through the page :(

Does the stroke width of my design play in role in the type of cut you get?

What makes a big difference is the font. Not all fonts are created to be cut - they CAN be cut, but some have a gazillion nodes and are not cut friendly and need to be simplified (fewer nodes). Also don't know what size you are trying to cut. Try a font like Lucida handwriting that I know cuts well in maybe a one inch size and see if that helps you get started.

Running out the door to a meeting but will check back in later.
