SB pauses a lot, have to turn off. Problems with P and C

Postby jillian737 » January 8th, 2013, 5:07 pm

Hi all,

I am having a love hate relationship at the moment! I have had my SB for a couple of weeks now. I've noticed that it does seem a bit quirky, it pauses and freezes a lot. The only resort I have is to turn the machine off and then back on. Also, I'm noticing that it still has the new motor burning smell when I turn it on, which I suspected was normal, but now I'm wondering after two weeks of use, should I still be smelling this?

Today I was doing a print and cut.
I printed from the cutter menu on the scal top tool bar and chose my silver bullet. I chose the print button within that window.
I printed my image with reg marks and loaded it on the mat into the SB.
Once my mat was loaded, I chose the print and cut option and my laser light comes on and the machine menu says cutting, but it spits the mat almost out of the machine.
I hold my mat and use the arrow keys in the ecal software to align with the laser dots to position one.
Then when I choose the "next" button, the blade carriage goes as far left as it can go touching the side of the SB and then pauses.
I can do nothing then but to turn off my machine.

Does anyone have any ideas? Am I missing a step or two? I have tried to power down the machine. Turn software on and off. Any help would be so appreciated! I am open to phone calls. 512-829-1135. Thanks in advance!

She had the registration marks going in the wrong way. Worked a lot of it out.

But Jillian - be sure to call or email Sherri if your machine smells smoky. It should not have a bad or smoky smell at all........

Ok......I feel much better! Gigi helped me tremendously! She gave me some great advice, I really appreciate the help! I definitely learned a lot from our phone conversation, regarding vertical and horizontal placement and the reg points. Also I realize now that I've been using too much force with my blade. I still have a ways to go. Thank goodness for this forum and all the great video's. Pandora's print to cut tutorial was great. I just completed the car in the photo using print and cut. This is for my new grandson who's dad is a huge hot rod fan! They are doing his bedroom in a vintage car theme, so I made a canvas hanging for the wall.
