Card Challenge #3 - Pocket Watch Card

Pocket Watch Card – By Kathy

Use the attached file (or create your own) to make a pocket watch card. I used thin foam dots to raise the clock face off of the back layer of the card and I used brads in the center of the clock face to hold the hands and at the top to use as the closure. The hands will fit over a medium brad and allow them to be moved around the clock or you can glue/tape them into place. If using the circle in the file for the closure, only place adhesive on one half of it as the front of the card must slip under part of it to hold the card closed. I found that a small brad worked much better for this. Also, I cut two pieces of the “pin” piece in the file to give it a little more stability to hold the closure .

I did not include the greeting area on my photo as I took it before I cut that out and am not sure who I am going to give this to just yet so did not want to write on it yet . And I also forgot to put the piece on the chain for the slider piece that would go through a button hole to hold the pocket watch in place. Both files include that piece attached to the chain.

Well isn't that the cutest! I know just who is going to get this card. It may be the first one I tackle.

Glad you guys like it! I have a few other ideas for some new more adult type card files that Suzan and I will be working on in the very near future :)

The free files for this will come down after the challenges are over so grab it even if you do not plan to do the challenges right now :)

I am the same way!!! Some days I look at all the fabric and think I should get rid of some of it - but then I realize it's not going to happen LOL

Here is my version of the pocket watch card. I am so excited to have successfully pfnc'd! (print, foil, and cut)
This card is for DH, and the unusual sentiment is our latest inside joke.

Thanks for a great challenge, Kathy. I really love this card!

Oh Elizabeth I love your card! I like the top of the watch (the winder) much better than mine. Hmmm, may have to redesign that part LOL. Love the face of the clock, like it has been worn down - looks awesome!
