Challenge 14- Shaped Cards

I love the way Kathy takes the patterns and transforms them. She is so awesome. I managed to cut it really small and I am going to use something like glossy accents and make a pin for Christmas.

Here is a special "Shaped" card that I made for my DS. He is a Freshman (9th grade) in High School. He plays American Football. As with most schools - Freshmen don't get to play in Varsity games too often unless the team is winning by quite a bit. 2 weeks ago, he got to play in one of the varsity games and I was not there because DD was also playing VB and starts so figuring he wouldn't play - I stayed home to watch VB (I do my best to get to both of their games if at all possible - but he was 3 hours away and I haven't learned to clone myself yet!) Any way - of course since I wasn't there he got in PLUS he SCORED his first ever High School Touchdown! I immediately got several text messges from friends who were there! I was so happy for him but so sad for me that I missed it! (I have subsequently seen the game film!). Anyway - I made him this card to celebrate his first high school touchdown!

I used a sizzix embossing folder to add the "texture" to the front of the card and added some inking for dimension. Thanks for looking.

Here is my other "shaped" card. It is a birthday cake that I found by googling for images and converting it into a cut file in MTC. I used some embossing folders to add some depth and made the cake "parts" PNC. Thanks for looking. One day I will get all of these uploaded on my blog to share!

I also wanted to say everyone's cards are looking great! Thanks for sharing them with us!

Those are great cards! Love them both. Congrats to your DS on his touchdown. How exciting! (I have two high schoolers too. Only one in sports, though, lucky me!)

What great cards! I need to make some embossing files for my cougar as I do not have an embossing machine. I think it adds so much to the cards. You are all so talented. I am so card challenged!

Thanks ladies.

Retta - now you have my curiosity up - how do you make embossing files for your cougar? I have very few embossing folders and never seem to have what I really want to do LOL.

I have the embossing tip and the mat for my cougar but I don't know if that works for paper embossing or for the thin metal sheets and such (clueless!)
