The Crop is Over, Thank you all so much!!!!!!!!!!!

Postby CaseysAngel » July 26th, 2011, 10:55 am

I apologize I didnt' get this posted last night., My internet has been down and even now isn't running right again!!!!! At least I almost made it through the crop though huh?LOL

Anyway, they aren't sure what is going on with it so I will probably just take the laptop to karate and finish the entries from there and then post as soon as I get the excel chart emailed out to a few people and then get someone to pick the numbers for the winners. They should be posted within the next day or so.

I want to thank Sheri and Rachell for stepping in and closing the threads for me last night. I really didnt' feel like going to my dad's to do it all and thanks to them I didnt' have to. A few simple phone calls and they were more than willing to do it for me. You guys are the best!!!!!!

I of course also want to thank all of you. The crop was a huge success and I am so happy with the way it all went. Everyone of you that helped with challenges, prizes, and just participating are ALL to thank for that and I appreciate it all!!!!!!! When there is such an awesome turn out it sure makes everything we put into it so worth it.

Our next event will be the August blog hop, and provided my internet will allow it, the post to sign up to be a blog host in it will be in the general forum here in a few minutes. Since it isn't really a challenge I thought I'd put it there. The challenge following the blog hop of course will be posted in the Challenge forum the following weekend.

Thank you all so much for joining us and I hope you had a wonderful time!!!!!!!!!
Hugs,
Christy

Just checking in for today. The Crop Challenge entries that were submitted were really great. Christy you did an excellent job of organizing the Crop and making sure that it ran smoothly. Those that offered challenges, what creative ideas you challeged members with.

Great Job everyone!!!

Off now to look after my mother.

I felt a little intimidated when we first started, since I have never done anything like this before. It was a wonderful experience, and I got so many great ideas and inspiration from everyone. This really has been so much fun, and helped us get to know one another a little, also. Now, I am revved up, and ready to tackle lots more projects. Thanks to everyone who organized this, and offered challenges and prize goodies, and of course to all the people who participated and posted your work. I'm amazed at all of us -- we did so many projects in a very short time. Woo-hoo!!

Thanks to everyone that created the projects for us and for the volunteer time I know it takes..so thanks to Christy and the other ladies that helped out. I NEEDED MORE TIME. I haven't done a crop before, although I could hold my own on craft supplies (just ask my husband), actually he is really good about my "habit". It was great to try to do projects or designs that you haven't done before. But, I have several projects with matching supplies ready to go! As usual I decided to tear my craft room apart in June to "re-organize" (ha! ha! ha!), but didn't get it put together before the crop (whose bright idea was that?). I look forward to the next crop in August. You are all so supportive to newbies, you guys are great!

Christy, thank you so much for this very well organized and smooth running challenge.
Designers, you really outdid yourselves with providing wonderful projects and files that I will use over and over again as the holidays approach. I work in a military hospital, and so many of the great boxes you designed will be included in care packages going out to Afghanistan, Kuwait, Qatar and Iraq.
Participants--How you inspired me. I am humbled by the opportunity to submit my projects alongside yours.
This was my first challenge, but it certainly won't be my last!
Blessings to you all.

Laura -

Not only do you do really important work, but I can only imagine how much the care packages are appreciated. Thank you so much for taking the time and energy to send to those overseas.

I think we are the ones who are honored that you spend some of your time with all of us. Bless you for all that you do.

Thankyou Christy & everyone involved.
I loved that there was such a variety of challenges — something for everyone!
Prior to this challenge I'd attempted very little cutting.
Although I still haven't changed the blade that came in the machine or done PNC or anything remotely ambitious I'm happy to report that I am now feeling confident enough to begin tackling a few projects.
cheers!

Hmmm, why did I think you were a seasoned cougar cutter? Well, glad to see you are getting braver!

Too funny!
I'd never even heard of a cutting machine until March — discovered quite by accident.
When I got mine (big # birthday, big pressie) I assumed I'd get a "Queen of Making Stuff tiara" fairly quickly :ROFLMBO:
Wrong!
She hissed & snarled at me, crouching low . . .
It was 2 days before I crept out from behind & hit her "on switch" :hide:
I extended an offering, she snatched it (in hindsight my fault, it was red!) I retreated . . .

Fast forward to now & I am trialling the Cesare Milan method :whip: her into line so that I become the top cat! :D

Just wanted to add my thanks to Christy and everyone else who helped put this together. It was my first on-line crop too and I really enjoyed it. I loved the selection of projects to choose from and the freedom to participate in as many as I was able.

Thanks to everyone for all the great inspiration and encouragement.
