These are all great. I am out of town right now, and can't wait to get home and do some more crafting before this crop is over!

OK here is mine. The box was something I created all myself. It started back in April for mothers' day. Originally conceived as a hatbox. But I had problems with it as I could not figure out how to get magnet closure. And then I finally had an inspiration in the last day or so as to how to position the magnets so they close and it works! I have found if I cover with heavy cardstock, it won't work. It may work with very thin cardstock, which I might try later. However, I wanted to post uncovered, to show you the mechanics of what I discovered. Additionally, I figured out if I cut a separate false bottom, this works really well for assembly. This box was done out of chipboard.

EDIT: I had to reposition magnets and that's why there was an inner rip. This box cut so clean with the cougar.

I might or might not add some type of hanging mechanism so I can post this in the ornament challenge also. Not sure if I will do that, or do the ornament I had planned. I have no goldish rope which is what I wanted, so I might just leave it.

Let me know what you think!

Pat

Wow Pat - very clever and just adorable. I love what you did and never ever would have thought to attach the magnets that way! Awesome!

Thanks. I just tried putting a post it piece of paper on top to hide the magnets and see if it will still have magnetic pull. It does. So I might cut a lid cover out of matching cardstock (which is very thin) and apply just to hide the magnets on the inside part of the lid. I will repost a photo of that if you guys want it.

I did attach cardstock, and on 2 of 3 magnets, no difference in the magnetic pull, works fine. On one, just a little difference, may be that the cardstock has altered something on that side, but still, a pretty secure close. If it had been thicker cardstock, would not have worked. So if you want to do something like this, it must be very thin, el cheapo, cardstock.

Pat

EDIT: the third magnet is now working fine. Apparently, adding the cardstock I think warped the lid alittle, and now that the glue is dry, I sort of bent it back, and now the lid is closing A-OK like it originally did. Patience is not one of my better virtues..............LOL

I'd like to try something like that, but I'm not up to speed with chipboard yet, so it's good to know that the cardstock is strong enough to work for it.

If you would like the file I can post it for you. It's a SCAL file, not sure if I can make it an SVG or not.

Here is my feeble attempt at making a box, complete with carrot cupcake! These will be used for our Christmas party at church. They will have a cupcake for each person at the party. Not much, but I did make the file from a box that I got at our fundraiser the other night! It was actually fun. I used all basic shapes from Make-the-Cut. I also made one of Penny's poinsettias to embellish the box. For the party, we will use various decorations, some cute ones for kids and then these poinsettias for the adults.
