Trisha, thanks for your feedback. I did watch a few videos on you tube on comparisons so it kinda looks like they're both good so I think I should just go for the cheapest since I might not use it that much. I will visit HL when they have another 40% coupon.

I used the .pdf files as guides only, creating my own pages to suit. In my planner I have 6mth calendar (2mths per page), card list, gifts to buy, gifts to make, ideas/master gift list, holiday recipes to try, holiday menu planner, shopping list & notes. Cover stock is leathertex, tab pages (green) & text pages are 180gsm. I resized the tabs smaller, cut ovals in them & inserted tab names. I adhered green pages with pockets to the IFC & IBC. On the FC I glued the little cut out bits from the letters R & A as shown. Finally, I've made 3 copies of this planner (1 each for DDs & self, just have to assemble the girls' ones.) Thanks for a great project idea :)
cheers!

You did a fantastic job, Whizzy - I love the way you set it up - so thorough and well-planned - no pun intended!

It's super versatile and what a fabulous gift.

OKay here is the one I started out making for me and decided to use for my mom.LOL

I really wish you could see this better. I foiled the nativity and the peace on earth in gold on blue BAZZILL and it gave it the coolest look. It left the texture not foiled and the rest foiled which made it look more vintage. Then I sprayed the entire front cover with Gold Glitter halloween spray.

Anyway here are the best photo's I could get of it.

and just for good measure here was another cover I made and the foil was wrinkled and messed it up but look how cool this would have been!! The hill I only printed once so it would give it a more washed out look in this . When you foil on colored paper you need to print it like three times to get the black dark enough but this one I only did once and loved it!!!!

Ok, here's mine...lots of pages and LOTS of pockets! There are extra pockets in the front and back and on either side of the dividers.
I had a load of fun making this and see more things like this in my future....Thanks Dana!!
