Challenge #8 : Dana’s Christmas Planner

This challenge, we are going to make a Christmas organizer to get ready for the upcoming Christmas Holidays! For it to be considered for a prize, you must have the planner completed, bound and decorated, pages printed, folder tabs attached and labeled.
Supplies: Patterned Christmas Paper, Cereal Box weight chip board, cardstock, adhesive and your binding method.
I have divided my planner into 4 different categories: (1) Cards and Gifts, (2) Guest / Menu / Baking, (3) Décor / Chores and a (4) Calendar. I have attached the MTC and SVG file for the folder tabs for you to use.
For the list of pages that I used in my planner, I have compiled all the links to the PDF’s into a Txt document. I thought that might be easier for you to download. You do not have to use all of them, these are the ones that I thought I would use.
Have fun!

So this certainly looks like something that a 2nd grader would do! It didn't turn out at all like I had imagined it. I am embarrassed but I don't want to make another cover! I am going to use it anyway! My husband and boys think it is "cool". What a fan club! I opted for only three tabs. Hope that is OK.

Aw, Shirltop, I think it's darling! I really like the gift packages you worked in.

Great job Shirl, I like the gift package idea too. I would like to make one of these but I don't have any type of binding machine.

Here's my project for the Christmas Planner. This is only my second time to use my BindItAll, and I made too many holes in some of the pages--and the cover! Doggoneit! :banghead: I'm glad it is just for me.

I made four divider pages, and put a sub-divider for each section. I will have a Cooking/Baking section for what I plan to make for various events, with a sub-category for what I need to buy. I'll have a Gifts tab with a sub-category for sizes and sources; a Countdown to Christmas for a timeline for when I need to get certains things done with a sub-category of supplies I will need; and a Spruce-Up section with a tab for reminding me to delegate some things and to whom.

Phyllis,
You could easily put those binder rings on it. You know, the hinged snap-together rings you buy at an office supply place. Walmart has them, too, as does Hobby Lobby and Michaels. Shoot, they are pretty common these days, your grocery store might even have them. You should give it a try!

Trisha, I actually do have some of those rings, didn't think about using them. I think I might invest in one of the binding machines, any suggestions as to the best one? I have a 30% coupon for Archivers but can't remember which one they have, or they might have both.

Nice work Trisha and now you have all those little mistakes like the extra holes out of the way, if you want to make one for a gift it should go together perfectly!

I only have experience with the BIA. It seems okay, I just need to practice with it more. I got it at Hobby Lobby with a 40% off coupon, so it only cost me around $40. If you get one, be sure to get the pink one, it is the newer updated one.

Thanks, Gardencat! That is exactly what I'm hoping for! I'd like to make one of these for our daughter. She teaches music in a Jr. High, and has four children. I know this would help her stay on top of things this fall. Fingers crossed!

Two FABULOUS new planners - love them. Shirl yours is very clever - love the gifts and the lettering. And Trisha - great job. I have the cinch (original version) and have only used it once. You did a great job - love the title.
