Everyones boxes look fantastic... I made some of these last year, smaller, and then just put some store bought candy in them for my family. I don't bake cookies, or make candies... BF is diabetic, and can't eat it, and I sure don't need to eat it all myself.

I love seeing all the ways every one is making them more personal.

Here's mine. I decided to make smaller ones for candy or small treats. Since they fit on a sheet, I welded the two halves together to minimize glueing during assembly. I only assembled the one for now. The others will stay flat until I need them.

JeannetteC - those look just right. I would probably use that size more as I don't make cookies.

I like the smaller size also. What are the measurements?

It's Dana's box, only smaller. I changed the foldlines to small hash marks for fold indicators. Otherwise, it is the same.

My smaller box is about 3.75" across the front, and less than 2" wide. I really didn't pay attention to the dimensions at first. I just set my page to 12" x 12" and shrunk it to fit across the page, then duplicated it.

I did something similar last night to get the last 5 cut - mine is about 4" across the front and barely 2" high - so slightly larger than Trisha's.

And I just have to say - I am so proud of myself. I didn't want to manually fold (and even when I change the colors of the fold lines in inkscape it doesn't come out right when I go to cut - user error I am sure) - so I put little circles (REALLY little) sort of like Rach does, on the lines and then deleted the lines so I had a guide to score - came out perfect as they are SUPER tiny (had to zoom in to get them that small) And I saved the vertical score holes and the horizontal score holes separately so hoping I can just lay them on other files and not recreate things in the future. Not sure that made sense, but it was really the first time I tried to do something "different" with inkscape other than transform and simpler stuff as was happy that it worked!! It's the little things! LOL

And I just want to say - I love this file. After struggling with boxes that I have purchased, I love how this goes together. Everything fits together so well.

Here are the other 5. I made these considerably smaller and think this will make a great size for neighbor gifts.....

It is nice to accomplish more as you go along, isn't it! I love that! And I am proud of you too!

I have Inkscape 47. To get a dashed line, you select your line, go to the line color selecting tool on the top toolbar. There are tabs for choosing fill and stroke colors, and a tab that is line style. If you select it, you can choose what kind of line you want -- like solid, dashed, dotted, and how thick to make it.

Great going!!

Mine worked out similar. 3.75 wide, 2.18 high, 1.78 deep.
I attached a picture to show how I welded together, then placed two boxes on a 12x12 sheet.

Wow Trisha - thank you. As usual, I did it the hard way!! That seems to be the only way I know how! LOL

I DO have a question (well I have many but will start with one. I am sure I am doing something wrong when I send to Signcut, but I don't know what it is.

When I first started with the file, I ungrouped and changed the color of the folded lines so they would be separate and I could "cut" them at a lower force, marking the lines rather than cutting. So I sent to SignCut and all looks fine with both colors showing. But when I chose just the color of the scored lines, it drops them down to the origin rather than leaving them as they would be if I was cutting the box out. I don't know if I am saying it clear. I understand why it does that as usually you are cutting something out that you want to start at a certain point, but how do I score the lines separately without altering their position? Does that make sense?

I could have done the whole thing lower, removed the score lines and then just cut the outline again - but that is why I went to the little tiny dots to mark the scoring so I could do it all at one time.

Hope you can decipher what I am trying to ask!!

And Jeannette - I love that you got them on one 12x12. Should have done that but .. next time.

I learn from all of you daily and I love it! Thank you!

Gigi, there might be an easier way, but since I haven't used signcut, I'll give a work around.
Could you make 4 small squares in the four corners that you cut for both layers or that line up with the bounding box of the larger image and only cut for scoring.
