Challenge 4 - Stand –Up Perpetual Calendar

Calendar1.JPG

This challenge is to make a perpetual calendar to use as a gift or to keep for yourself. To complete the challenge, you need to complete 2 months for 2012. This challenge will take some time to complete but I started it now so that you have a chance to complete it before Christmas.
To make the calendar, go to http://www.wincalendar.com/2011-Word-Calendar.htm
Scroll down and pick a calendar month for 2012. You can choose the month to be in landscape or portrait mode.
You will see a blank calendar but has shading that you may or may not want. I don’t want it so I changed it by making it editable. (A yellow area, protected view, is above the calendar part. Click “enable editing”.)Now you can change it to how you want it. Click on a date square. Right click and choose “borders and shading”. Click on Shading – change “fill” to “no color” or how you want it, then where it says “Apply to”- change the dropdown box choice to what you want. I picked “table”.

Now do it again to change the color of a date square. Choose “borders and shading”. Change “fill” to a color of your choice. Go to the “Apply to” dropdown arrow and choose “cell”. It should now look like this with your color added to the cell.

Next, type in the event you need in that box. I typed my nephew’s name “Eli”. Highlight it and a box will show up. Click “font color” (A) and choose a color that shows up in your box well. I picked “white”. Continue doing the same for other events for the month you are working on and the border across the top of the calendar. It will look similar to this one. Continue adding the events you want for that month.
calendar4.JPG

Save your calendar. To make the calendar smaller so you have room to embellish the frame, move your cursor to the right hand corner of the actual calendar, it changes to an arrow with 2 points. Left click and hold and move up to your desired size. Save again. Print.
I attached my calendar towards the top of a piece of cardstock and then to the inside of the frame. My embellishments were print and cut from MTC and pop dotted onto the front of the frame. I am going to close up the ends of a file folder to keep my other months in with the embellishments so I have them ready to change for each month.
Have fun!

okay finally I am done with this one. let me state that I am NOT counting this as six entries only two just so no one gets confused. I just wanted to go ahead and finish mine so I could mark a gift off my list. This is for my sister Niki.

I HATE may's layout but oh well.LOL I print and cut all of the tops but I then went ahead and attached them to the pages because she is lazy and would have ended up bringing them back to me every month.LOL
Here is the image of all the PNC's. I just photomerged all the pictures together so it wasn't so much to upload.
all pnc's merged.JPG

And the individual layouts. I'm using january for Rob's challenge as well since that is his snowman set.

Again I am only counting this as TWO entries since you can only do each challenge twice. I don't want to confuse anyone.

Really nice Christy. I think the fall months are my favourites, but then the fall is my favourite time of the year anyway, so maybe I'm biased.

Christy and Rachellann. Those look super. I like the fall months because I love fall. I also really like the Welcome to our Home.

Here are my two for the challenge. You know, I will be completing challenges right up to Christmas. There is no way I will get them all done before the deadline. I do plan on doing all of them, though. :whip:

I had fun doing these. One...I drew a new snowman.....with feet.... He's not sized for a plate. :ROFLMBO:
My daughter helped with February since her birthday is the 24th. Christy, that is a good day, too. :D
She found the line drawing for the groundhog on the internet and thought it was funny. So do I. I made a quick PnC for this one.
