I LOVE sunflowers so each year hubby plants them along the outside edge of my garden. They are so beautiful and I thought I'd share!!

poor Valerie has tried several times to grow them and has failed, I don't think I will show her this. Does Casey have a secret. Personally I think it is too hot here to grow them.

Wow! That is awesome! My dd tried to plant some this year, and started in a pot while at college. I told her to replant in yard, but she waited too long and they died. She had even named them, so it was kind of sad for her. But then ds was given a plant (a fern) that he passed along to her, so that improved her spirits. She has a bamboo plant that she named Bambi, so she named the fern Thumper. :ROFLMBO:

Mary I would have had to turn around to

Suzan, don't tell her.LOL No tips or tricks though except possibly the fact that ours are planted on the outside edge of the garden. So the soil is fertilized to glora because of all our veggies and such growing. You can get some great organic fertilizer at your gardening stores so she might try that. I'm sure non organic would work just as well, especially since she isn't eating it, and would probably be cheaper.

Exactly what mine did. And they took off really quick but the stems were so small they couldn't hold the plant up. So I will have her try outside next time.

I am going to add a flower pic now, and I hope others will do so too. I assuming Christy will not mind. I think it will be cool to see all our flowers. Actually, the one I am adding is at my dd's house. I took it while she was on her honeymoon in case they were done blooming by time they returned.
