Travis back in hospital

Travis back in hospital

Postby rachellann » January 8th, 2014, 9:17 am

Well sitting here just waiting on dr to come back and check on him again. The toe he had problems with earlier has become very badly infected. Apparently there was a pocket missed last time and it festered inside the toe travis has no feeling so he didn't even feel until the infectionspread up his leg yes it has gone up to the groin area. They have splicr d the toe to allow drainage and have him on two rotations of antibiotics. We will know more but need to get infection level down but they are saying they are leaning towards removing the toe to be sure to stop it c.f. Rom repeated problems but we will know more later today.

Sending prayers Rach!

There were multiple posts of the same thing, all in "off topic", so I deleted the others...just so you know.

Rach - I don't recall seeing any updates, and i know you haven't been on very much. I also know that you have had a lot going on with your family - but just wanted to say that I hope that Travis is doing much better! Let us know how things are going if you do check in sometime!

Hi ALL I have been just running ragged lately and just getting back here. Travis is do ok as long as we keep him on a low dose of antibiotics we are keeping bacteria levels at bay, meaning he still has his toe and we have to keep very close eye on it for any signs of reoccurring infection. we have to make sure he wears two socks on that foot to make sure he does not scrap or injure it in any way and the braces stay on from the time he wakes till he lays down in bed. he hates that part but we can't take any more chances as the skin is so very thin on that toe. We are battling another demon and that is with the oldest daughter. Prayers are needed that we can get her clean and on the right track.
