dinner / supper tonight??

We're having beef stew/stew beef with rice. ( I have not made this in years...we ate it sooo much when we had 3 small kids at home :? because it was cheap LOL and stretched the budget a little better ;) )

It's in the crock pot now and my house smells AWESOME!! The hubby doesn't want me to make biscuits to go with it...because we loose the good sense God gave us and eat way too much if those are included :ROFLMBO:

So, what's on your menu??

No brothers close enough to cook for me. And I'm pretty sure none of the five of them can cook! I am having pork tenderloin from the crockpot, a salad of whatever veggies still look edible in my fridge, and whatever else I have energy to cook when I get home.

I made chili yesterday and the house smelled great too. I like chili year round, but the rest of my family makes fun of me.

Tonight is Hawaiian chicken (I make a big batch in the crock pot and freeze in small containers), lettuce salad, and Oreos with the peanut butter filling. I wish I had never tried those!! :ROFLMBO:

Very lucky Suzan - to not have to cook AND have a daughter close enough to have you over for dinner!

I am still undecided but wish I would have been organized enough to put something in the crockpot. It's challenging to cook for one so I share with my neighbor a lot. She recently introduced me to farro. It is absolutely delicious. So I am thinking of doing a farro minestrone soup or a cheesy farro something or other! LOL Totally uninspired.

I LOVE breakfast for dinner better than I do for breakfast. May just bake and nibble on cheese and crackers. Can you tell I have no clue??!!?? It's gloomy here so some sort of soup is sounding good. Stay tuned!!......

You guys are making me hungry!!!

I think my brother can relate to you Gigi! :ROFLMBO: :ROFLMBO: :ROFLMBO: He was hungry for a brisket several months ago and cooked one. He ate on it for weeks until he was sick of it. That is why he sends over his "leftovers" before they are leftovers. He doesn't want to have to eat it forever. :ROFLMBO: :ROFLMBO: Goodness....I'm getting hungry reading what everyone is having.

40 Cloves and a Chicken. French bread toast to spread the roasted garlic on after I take it out of the chicken, scalloped potatoes and grilled asparagus. Homemade Lemon Gelato or Sunday's leftover White Chocolate Bread Pudding with White Chocolate sauce for dessert.

I've wanted a crockpot for AGES and never got one. Can anyone suggest a really dependable brand. With food prices soooo high and all these men, I have to find a way to cook those icky cuts of meat (pot roast) but still be yummy...........

Thanks everyone.......

Pat

(we had spaghetti and veggies tonight.......)

Pat, I have a Rival. Get one that the "pot" comes out for washing. I had the other kind and it is difficult to really scrub when you are afraid to get the cord wet. LOL. I would imagine that garage sales and second hand stores are good places to look for one. People usually get several for bridal showers. One of my nieces got three. :ROFLMBO: :ROFLMBO:

yeah, make sure the pot is removable! I bought mine at walmart and I love it! http://www.walmart.com/ip/Hamilton-Beac ... r/16913519 my old one, which I still have, would burn everything, even on low. This one doesn't!
