Ok, so I am not the brightest crayon in the box!!

Or the sharpest knife in the drawer!

I mailed tow packages out last week. I received word from one receiver that her package was received. The other notified me and said she had never received hers. Of course I did not get a tracking number!! I did keep the receipt...and what did I do??? I addressed the package correctly...with the exception of the city, state, and zip! OMG! I don't know what I was thinking! Obviously I wasn't thinking! Hopefully, the package will be returned and I can ship it again!

is this shipped USPS? If so, you can try going back to the post office and ask the post clerk or post master as they might be able to help.

When we were doing swaps eons ago (yes I said Eons!,) we did a return address we were sending too also. Of they returned it, it was going to the address it was sent too.

That would only work IF you got the address right for the return address. If you made the same mistake in the to and from addresses, then there is no way the Post Office would be able to deliver it at all.

I have put my own address down as both the "to" and "from" on my return envelopes for swaps. I usually get that one right!

The package was returned to me yesterday! It is a little banged up, but it was still sealed. I will be sending this out again to the CORRECT address...and correct city and state!

Mary, so happy the package found it's way back to you. A good reason to always put a return address on a package.
What I hate is someone that addresses a package to Grandma, or Aunt Mary, with no last name, and get the address wrong, and we have no idea who Grandma or Aunt Mary is, and can't get the package delivered. And of course by the time the recipient calls the post office to see where their package is, it has already been returned to the sender. You would be surprised to see just how many packages are mis addressed and can't be delivered. Or people move with out filling out a change of address and we have no way to forward it. (This always amazes me that people do this when they have ordered something online).

Diane, I still get bills and packages for the woman that built our house 20 years ago. I was finally able to find out her phone number when I mentioned her name to a friend of mine and she knew her and her phone number. I got a pair of boots she ordered and was able to call her and ask her if she wanted them. LOL. I've been in this house for 9 years. You would think she would make sure than when she ordered something online, that she would check the shipping address.

Kim, somehow that doesn't surprise me. You would think people would double check their address when they order something online, but they don't. I get mail on my route all the time for people that moved years ago. I recently had a letter being returned to the sender.... And the sender moved from that house about 2 years ago. How can you not know you don't live there any more, when writing your own return address on an envelope?????
