I have the MOST AWESOME Hubby

Postby Suzan » November 17th, 2012, 1:23 pm

Just got home from Joann's. We went to buy some cardstock to cut out a bazillion Gingerbread men for a charity we support. We are walking down the aisle and Guess what got put in my cart.

Are you ready Can you stand it.

A brand new Fiskars Fuse. Isn't he awesome He made me carry it though his back is out, I swear it weighs as much as my bullet. Gotta love him.

Very nice Suzan. You will love the Fuse. Every time I use mine I love it more - I just have to remember to use it as it's in another room!! Maybe you will inspire me.

Good luck with all of the gingerbread men.

oooohhh, he is! Congrats!!! I don't have one (Fuse, that is) and so can't give my opinions on one but only have heard great things about it. Glad you got one and will have fun with it. If his back wasn't giving problems, I would say you need to give him a great big bear hug.

Congrats Suzan... you are going to love it. Like Gigi, I need to remember to use mine more. I put mine away when I'm not crafting so I need to remember to pull it out when I'm working on something and use it. I need to get more embossing folders now too... I tried not to buy to many, because I wasn't using them much, but now that I have the Fuse, I need to do more with it.

Yes he is a keeper, especially after I had to go back and buy the adapter plates. Here is a little secret I was able to use my 40% coupon. You know why. It was how the coupon was worded. The adapter plates do not say anything about cutting or cutting machines. Thank goodness the coupon didn't exclude fiskars, just cutting machines, dies and cartridges. I was happy.

Did you know you can also use the acuquilts dies in it. And it will cut fabric with other dies as well.

Yes - it takes almost all dies, but luckily I don't quilt so I am saved a bit on that one! LOL

I don't have any of the Accuquilt dies, and although I quilt, I never thought about cutting my fabric with a die cutter. I suppose if I needed a TON of the same shape and size it may be worth spending the money on the die, but I don't have any problems getting out my ruler and rotary cutter to cut my fabric up when I make a quilt. Although I do have a friend that has a hard time holding onto the ruler and rotary cutter, and she got the Accuquilt GO, so I may be able to borrow some dies from her if I really needed to. I just need to get back to quilting.. but that would mean I wouldn't have time to do any paper crafts.... I need to retire, so I have more time to do the things I want to do.. instead of working 10 + hours a day.

Well I do cut by hand with a ruler and rotary cutter, but I have arthritis in several fingers so it gets kind of uncomfortable. I am thinking of using it more for appliqued type stuff anyway.
