Who remembers the puppet show Thunderbird's Are Go? I know it was a movie, we watched it on Netflix a while back. It was so funny. The puppets were stiff in one position and when they had to do something like dial a phone, they used someones hand that looked like the puppets. It was so cool. Wires and all.

Don't forget gathering around the TV every week as a family to watch The Muppet Show...or the Disney Movie of the week.

When I was little it was the Wonderful World of Disney, but it always came on at my bedtime.

Captain Kangaroo and Howdy Doody!! Locally we had a show called Cactus Jim. It was sponsored by a local dairy and they stressed drinking your milk every day. That was 50 years ago and they were into nutrition. Every day after school I didn't miss that show even though I never liked milk :ROFLMBO: Wow, you guys have brought back lots of memories!!

Can anyone remember Tom Terrific on Captain Kangaroo? I especially remember Manfred the Wonder Dog and Crabby Appleton. We always called our kids Crabby Appletons when they were cranky or mad. :ROFLMBO:

Oh, I loved Captain Kangeroo! And there was some science show for kids when I was really little. Can't remember the name of it. So many good shows. Now I have to screen shows for DS to watch. Well, not now...he's old enough now that he pretty much watches what he wants, but I do put my foot down on some shows, like that Jersey Shores show. YUCK!!! What trash! But I notice that sometimes it is difficult to find a nice clean show on the TV now. Even the set of books I was reading "Game of THrones" or something like that. It had some really racy parts and when I purchased the HBO shows on iTunes, I thought it would cut out all the trashy parts, but not so. I thought in some places I was watching an X rated movie. I guess I won't be watching that show with DS. I'd turn beet red! Love the story line, just wish they would have toned down the sexual stuff so that it would be more kid friendly.

Was I the only one watching Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, and Rocky and Bullwinkle, Mr. Magoo and more. Some of those were even reruns then! LOL "Fractured" Fairy Tales, Big Valley, Ponderosa, (do you see a theme here - all those cute cowboys!) Man I don't even remember them all. But the cartoons were nicer. They make some ugly cartoons now! I can't stand to see them, just UGLY!

Oh, I have some Mister Magoo 8mm tapes. Remember those old 8mm movies? And I loved all those shows. I love to watch old movies....remember the Tammy movies? My mother loved to watch old movies and I spent many a night watching with her. Especially when Dad was in Vietnam. She cried on almost every movie! Happy tears, sad tears, anything. LOL. When DS was little, he was wanting to watch something called Brain something, some crazy mouse that was smart. It was terrible...give me Bugs Bunny any day. And I think on some station was something called Ren & Stimpy, but thank goodness we didn't get that station. Only our friend's house got that.

Oh, my favorite on Captain Kangaroo was Magic Drawing Board. I could never figure out how they did that!!! (I'm not sure I even know NOW how they did that!) What about Mr. Moose...and all the ping-pong balls that would fall on the Captain's head??
