Prayers Please For Valerie

Ok ladies and gents, Valerie really needs prayer right now. On April 3, 2012 she is finally going to court on her Workman's Comp case for settlement. Long story short almost 4 years ago she was injured at work, and now has a spinal cord stimulator to block pain from nerve damage in her knee. She has suffered with this injury for four long years, and has missed out on a lot of normal things a girl her age should have done. College mainly. She has endured injections in her spine, knee, and had two surgeries when leads have been implanted in her nerves. It has been a nightmare. I have talked with her and told her we need to pray that God takes complete control of this. Yes she deserves a lot more than she will get. The biggest thing is does she accept what they will give her with lifetime medical, or accept a complete buy out. Both have their perks and consequences. She is extremely nervous, mainly because it is finally going to come to an end.
You all are so great and supportive and I want you to know the whole appreciates all your kind prayers and thoughts.

Dear Lord - you know what Valerie has been going through with all of this, what her parents have been through too. Lord we ask that you give them all wisdom, and discernment in this case. That you would have everyone do what you want them too. We ask that you keep your hand on all of this and that the outcome is the one that you want. Lord we ask that you would ultimately heal Valerie also. Lord we just thank you that you are faithful, even when we fail as people. We thank you that you listen to us despite ourselves. Thank you Lord!

My prayers are with you all also. What an ordeal, I must have missed the initial injury but this is horrible what she has gone through.

Yes it has been Phyllis, it will be four years in July. It has been a long hard road. Emotionally and physically. The stimulator will most likely be with her for ever. But there is always the chance the nerve will reboot its self and she won't need it. The problem is there really isn't an injury. Except that her sympathetic nerve thinks there is major damage and it sends signals to her brain, causing pain in her knee. So the stimulator blocks that part of the nerve to her knee and she isn't supposed to have pain. This is what gets really weird, last year the leads started creeping in the nerve, and so when she would adjust the stimulator she would feel the effects of it in different parts of her body. We love to joke and tease about the remote and the programs, we always request a chacha, rumba, foxtrot and quickstep. Can you tell we like to watch Dancing with the Stars.

Valerie most definately has my prayers. Poor thing to have to suffer with something like this at her age. Praying that the results of the claim are positive and what she needs.

I have been through am dental malpractice lawsuit and it's so hard to know what to do. I will pray that those who are advising her, lawyers too, will help guide her to the right decision for her - and that she will have the faith and trust to see the answer clearly.

Sending hugs and prayers to all of you. And I know as much as she wants it over, it's very emotional to have it over even when you get what you think you want. She has been fighting a long time. God bless you.

Thank you all again, I can't thank you enough. I have passed these on to her to read, and she truly is touched by the kindness from all of you that don't even know her. She is a mighty woman of faith. And I know God has control of this.

Gigi you are so right, it is emotional to have it over. It is like having an extra toe or finger and then poof it is gone.

Retta's prayers always make me cry. I thought that was normal because she is beautiful in every way. Some of us don't say it as well but I know we are all heard. Valerie will never be alone here.
