Cupcakes???

Postby kate3 » December 17th, 2011, 8:09 pm

This is some of the cupcakes my Niece made for a Christmas party last night. She started baking and decorating at 8 years old and these look better than most of what I cut on my cougar. I feel so inadequate because she doesn't use any decorating tools. :hide: She insists on baking and decorating everyones birthday cakes. Some have been amazing and all have been great. One day she will make a good Mother and wife but not while she is in high school. I don't know why one pic came up twice, I only put it there once.

So pretty, send her over. I bet she could make super ornaments and stuff out of polymer clay.

She uses a plain butter knife and snips the corner off a plastic bag if she needs to pipe. I once watched her use a fork to make fur on a puppy cake. I asked her today where my cupcake was as she made over 24 and she told me they ate them all at the party and she didn't get one, lol. Her cakes taste great too and I guess my body didn't need one.

She is having Christmas at my house and making some to bring. I might get one yet but my body still doesn't need one and it can't stop at one. :ROFLMBO: This girl does amazing big cakes for birthdays too like pirate ship and race tracks with cars for her little brother. I thought I was a good baker but her stuff tastes great and looks great.
I have noticed there is only one crafter in each generation going back 4 generations and only one good cook and baker. I am the one for my generation for both, she is the one for hers and her little sister is the only crafter. There is the generation between us as her mother is my niece. She knits, crochet's and does beautiful hand embroidery. I do the first 2 but my embroidery is a joke. Does that count? My nephew is the cook and baker and he can make anything crafty. There are so many of us that there should be more than one. I wish my daughter had shown an interest in any of them. The only thing she likes to do is invent her own recipes for the main meal at dinner so if she ever has one her husband won't starve. :ROFLMBO: :ROFLMBO: :ROFLMBO:

Thats the way it is in my family, too, Kate. There seems to be one crafter per generation. My Grandmother, my aunt and myself all craft like crazy. My mom and my sister don't at all. My daughters are breaking the rule, as they are both spinners and knitters. My sixteen year old also makes jewellry, and my fourteen year old can often be found (caught!) in my craftroom using (stealing!) my paper, and using my Cougar for journals and school projects.

They would love to come visit you, Kate! I can't give them up permanently though. I fell head over heels in love with them the moment they arrived, and couldn't do without them for long!

I know the feeling. They own us from when they arrive. I think it is voodoo.
Mine told me it is time she grew up and is thinking of moving out on her own. She is in high school. I asked her where she was moving to and she told me there was a house for sale just around the corner. :ROFLMBO: :ROFLMBO: :ROFLMBO: She is such a great money saver I wouldn't be surprised if the bank gave her a loan. Then she decided she might just buy it and rent it out as a start to her property portfolio. I have been calling her Miss Trump ever since. I am aiming to just own the house I live in.
