Too funny. My dane just died a couple of weeks ago. When she was a puppy, she liked to chew up one of my shoes. I was told that is because it smelled like me. Wow.

Too funny about Dawn!

Phyllis - I don't know what it is about posting this - but I didn't. It has been a very hard loss for me and I couldn't talk about it like I wanted to. She was precious and 14 years old. So we were blessed to have her that long. Usually they do not live that long. I can still see the look in her eye when she looked at me. (Sorry - crying now.) thanks.+

Oh I'm so sorry Retta. I know that I will be in hysterics when Bisky's time is up. She is 8 going on 9. We had a scare last couple of weeks with a rawhide bone. She will NEVER EVER have another one. I have been giving her her milkbone treats. For Christmas, I frosted a couple and put them in a baggie for her for Christmas Day. Corny I know !

Retta, I so understand, I'm crying with you because I've been there too. Hugs.

Dana, I am afraid of those rawhide bones too. Our dogs get wrapped up presents for Christmas, we do have to help them open them.

Aw - he is going to love that. That isn't corny at all. We have another dog that is such a lover. If I didn't have him, I think it would be a lot harder on me. It was just so hard to see her get that old. I am thankful I didn't have to decide to put her down and it was at that time when she died. She would have loved all of you and your kids and dogs. She didn't see a kid that she didn't claim as her own and she thought other dogs were for playing. She use to cry if the kids left the room or the house. I kept thinking - am I chopped liver?? But she was my dog. The dog we have right now is my sons. He loves me though and tells on my son all the time. It is too funny.

Thanks!

Cute! One of mine loved shoes, anyone's shoes. He used to escape out of our yard and get the neighbor's shoes. Thankfully, even after offering to pay for a new pair of shoes, the neighbor's never really got upset.

Retta, so sorry to hear about your dog. Mine are like my babies.

Ah Retta honey I am so sorry, they are our babies, and losing them is awful. It is as bad as losing a family member, which they are of course. You know she is in heaven, romping and playing and healthy. And she will be there for you in spirit. Sending you a super hug from me and all my four footed babies :bighug: :bighug: :bighug: :bighug:

Dana, As I have the same dog, mixed Lab/Retriever this does not surprise me, oddly. I am more likely to find a cabinet door in my dogs mouth and the Vet still tells me they grow out of it??? WHEN? I had a home and now it is a chew toy but they can't help give you that gorgeous look from their eyes, their whole body wags when they see you and you no longer notice the missing walls, furniture legs, doors etc.

Retta, My dear I am so sorry and I am crying with you. I still remember losing my last little guy and hugging him while he went. It hurts to lose any family and I love you.

It's not the dog that takes the socks in our house it is the cat. our pets can be so much fun to watch.

We have 2 dogs, 4 cats and a pigeon. The little dog thinks he is big, the big dog thinks she is a cat, and will lay on the back of the couch. The cats love to sneek up on the big dog at night and snuggle, no fear what so ever, and the pigeon actually barks. And Michael the little dog, will drag 1 of every shoe and sock he can find even though half the time they are bigger than him, into the living room and neatly make a pile.
