Here I am and I will be popping in when I can. Surgery was yesterday, his doctor is the best and a woman of course.
My daughter and I got the doom and gloom tour the day before showing us all the things that would happen to him and what he would look like for 2 days. They even took us to the ICU to look at some poor man that had the same surgery. So glad he was unconscious.
They don't know my husband, he is ultra fit and he didn't even look sick. This was found by accident and they didn't know why he was still standing after more tests to see just how bad it was. They told us he would be in an induced coma for 2 days, breathing on a ventilator then one more day in the ICU if all went well.
His amazing doctor fixed the unfixable. She told me she wouldn't have tried if he hadn't been so fit. He got rid of the breathing tube in 4 hours and is currently being moved out of ICU in less than 24 hours. They must be tired of trying to keep him still. He used to wonder where we got our over active child from.
I just spoke to him on the phone and he sounds the same as he did before surgery. I think he is in better condition after the surgery than I am. I have been an emotional wreck for days. I bet his 8 days in hospital recovery, if all went well becomes more like 4 or 5 days and they send him home to me.
I feel so blessed he had the doctor he did have. She is very much like he is and always thinks outside the square. I feel even more blessed that he will now probably outlive me. Not so thrilled he intends coming home to make me healthier. It is his fault I gained weight, he did it to me with this surgery. All is more than well so far. Thank you.
