saved by SCRAPS!!!

Never throw away good scraps of paper.

I was up to the star of david part for my inside box. The only blue paper I have is the cruddy SU paper, which I tried yet again to cut, which is terrible. The star of david is usually blue, so it really had to be blue. This star has very sharp pointed angles which of course is a little harder.

Getting a little panicky, as the other alternative was to cut chipboard and paint (but at this late date - ehhhewwwwwww.), went through my scraps and found the leftover canson watercolor paper I used to test cut the box. There was enough left to do the star. It's a light blue (really needed a deeper blue), but I'll take anything!

I am almost ready to post the box photos, but have a question..I want to sprinkle a little glitter on the star of david (technically the star of david is blue and white). I have dazzling diamonds (white) from stampin up. Usually I use glossy accents, but I do not want any dimensional look. So what is best to use? versa mark? anything else?

I will probably post photos tonight...

If you have a glue pad that would work too. I have some from a MS stamp set.b

If you have the Yes paste that would work or just a thin layer of glue. If the star is a file you could cut out the same star from some double adhesive and then put that on the star and add the glitter. It sounds beautiful!

I haven't had any luck with the glue pads. I tried it a couple of weeks ago, and even after letting it dry all night, when I rubbed my finger across the stamped and glittered image, all the glitter came off. Now, it could have been I didn't apply enough glue to my pad before I tried it, but when it was wet, the glitter looked really good, so I'm not sure what the problem was.

If you have some kind of a glue pen, like the ZIG, then you could draw on your star where you want the glitter. and apply it that way.

Wow - Angel - I wish you had posted earlier...that was a great idea...and after trying a few things, none of which worked, I gave in and applied the glossy accents, even though I didn't want to, just to get the glitter part done. Next time I will remember your idea and use my glue pens. And I have glue pens and just why I never even thought to use them I have no idea.

At least, I had the presence of mind to remember my SU ink pads. I took a look, and sure enough I had the right color, so I was at least able to re-ink the paper, so it looks a deeper blue. And because it was the canson watercolor paper, the paper had the right properties so it absorbed the ink nice.

Unfortunately, this means final assembly in the a.m. because the glossy accents has to dry. I will post photos for sure tomorrow before I go to the event, I promise.

Thanks all for your help!
