remember my awful day???? welll...

Postby Mary Kobe » September 12th, 2011, 3:00 pm

The other dean sent my dean an email citing all of MY errors! My dean calculated the errors and came up with a .3% error rate! He sent her an email that explained the error rate and asked if she wanted 100% accuracy? And considering we are humans, would she really expect 100% accuracy? Oh, he had a list of 7 items...3 were what I called "rebuttals" and 4 were new items that he wanted to call her on.

My dean wanted further documentation, which I had for issues their office caused. So, the two deans are to meet on Thursday and he suggested to her that I attend the meeting since this is MY program! LOL Let the email slams begin! He said he is not backing down on this one!

I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings! Now, I am not hurt or sad anymore...I think it is rather comical that she wants to keep stirring things up!

Mary - I'm so glad that He is standing up to this kind of abuse. Hopefully, it will end it. Office politics can be the most harsh and hurtful things there are . Praying for you and your boss especially.

OMG Mary - that female dean needs to get a life!! I am so sorry she is calling you on the carpet for what sounds like absolute nonsense!! .3% off - are you kidding me - that is beyond perfection in most arenas!

I too am glad your boss is going to bat for you and admire your attitude. Sounds like there is a united front in your office and that is a good thing. Please keep us posted on how the meeting goes! We will be cheering you on!

LOL Suzan I was trying to think of something to say I make that many errors too but your post tops it all! :)

I am so happy to hear your dean is standing up to this lady and backing you up 99.7% of the way (ok there is room for errors right?)

Mary, That is great that your dean is standing up for you. .3% error rate REALLY??? If that is all you have, then you should be getting an INCENTIVE AWARD, not being told you aren't doing a good job. I tell ya, people just don't know how to manage any more. They think just because they have a degree in business management, that they are good managers. There is a lot more to it than just book learning about how to manage.

I hope your dean puts the other dean in her place, and you don't have any more problems with her after the meeting.

Diane,

She has Ph.D in Counseling, of all things! :ROFLMBO: :ROFLMBO: And really lacking in people skills! I worked in her division for 8 years and I did the "happy dance" when hired for the position I am currently at. Couldn't wait to get out of that office!

Suzan, loved the breathing comment!

Kathy, yep 99.7 % with room for errors!

Mary, So we have 2 Deans battling with computers at dawn? :whip: I like that and I thought there was only one Dean and one troublemaker. Good to know you have your own and yours has your back with us. 8-) We would have taken her down and have you ever met a good psychologist? They all analyse themselves until they are nutty.
I am with Suzan, I sometimes forget to breathe. This month I paid the first instalment of our Council rates the night it was due on my computer. I called the next day to apologise in case it didn't come through in time and it was a month early. :banghead: With your percentage you can now change the title on your desk to super woman and ask for a pay rise. Tell them I said so. :hide:

LOL Kate - that is great!! I love what you said about psychologists - so true of most anyway!! And to think Mary survived EIGHT years with her - that in itself deserves an award!!

I don't think this woman realized the support team you have or she would NOT mess with you!!

Thank goodness you changed departments when you did!

Good for you Mary!! It is always a great thing when you have a boss who will go to bat for you. As for the other dean, geez, get a life lady!! If she has the time to nit pick, then she doesn't have enough things to do. As for counselors, well, my brother is one and I think that they all are a little nuts. Everything you do or say is analyzed and I swear that "everybody" is Bipolar, according to him.

Everyone is entitled to bad days and with your error rate, I think that you should be rewarded! I think she made more of an error making such a huge deal of it. I've been over a whole department before.....no one, not even me (can you believe it!!! and don't dare tell DH I am admitting this) is perfect. You fix your mistakes, you learn from them, or you just chalk it up to a bad day....that is called "life".

let us know how the meeting turns out. I am SOOOOOO happy you have a dean that is behind you 100%...sometimes it doesn't work out that way. That must make you feel really good.

99.7% on ebay is a winning persentage! Man Mary, is it that she resents you being out of her department and out of her control. Let's run that through the analyze that!!!!

Well, this gets better and better. I will be attending the meeting with my dean. Two others from her office will be there, as well.

She has made some pretty harsh statements in email and I am a little (ok, more than a little) intimidated by her. My dean says not to worry, that he has my back. He is level headed, when I just want to reach out and kick someone's you-know-what...not that I would, but I would LIKE to! I am really nervous about this meeting.

Anyway, she made a comment like shifting from error to blame is an awful poison. Now it is getting ugly!

I am just so, so thankful that I do not work for her anymore. She is just not a nice person, well, at least to me. I could go on and on about her, but I have to leave the past behind!

The program that I coordinate has grown since I have been here and relationships with high school counselors has blossomed. I am NOT going to let HER ruin my parade!

I will keep you all updated! I feel like I am in an arena being cheered by a crowd! Thanks, you guys!

Kate you are so funny!!!

The problem is that the person, who was my friend at one time, who was NOT invited to the wedding, went to her dean, who hates me anyway, and told her the problem. The dean then took it to my dean, so now we are playing a middle school game of pointing fingers!

If everyone would be just like me, the world would be a perfect place! LOL
