It was so funny yesterday put up the Ikea shelves. I have done this twice and think I know what I am doing. It was getting late in the afternoon and he was getting crabby. He put the first pole up. And I looked and said Bryan you need to move it we aren't going to have enough room. He snaps back. Don't you think I will measure first it will be fine. So I convinced him not to put the screws in the ceiling and lets get the other 2 poles up. Now I believe in levels and plumness and all that. But the easiest way with these things is to actually measure by setting a test shelf up. Then you have it perfect. Well after 15 minutes of doing it his way. He found out that we could never go in the garage. The last pole was at least 6 inches into the door. Then he says, how do you do it again. LOL :ROFLMBO: :ROFLMBO: :ROFLMBO: I love it when he thinks he is so smart and becomes a smart a__ and I get to prove him wrong.

That's what I live for! :ROFLMBO: But in some cases, DH is anal. I remember once he was building us a deck to our mobile home we lived in while in college. He measured, drew up plans, measured again, and built. He did a great job. But it takes him FOREVER. We were working on our back balcony...it runs the length of the back of the house. We did hire some contractors to do it several years ago, but they did such a bad job, we are having to do it again. We have been working on it for almost a year. We finished everything but the railing. And forget putting anything together....I do it.

Thanks for sharing that - what a riot!! At least he wanted to help, even if he needed a lot of help himself!! :ROFLMBO: :ROFLMBO:

Do get me wrong my husband is great and I love him to death. But he is so stubborn at times. He is a real man doesn't read books, where as I sit and read the book and when he gets frustrated and cranky I tell him what to do. But yes at least he helps when I whine and beg. Oh yes and I do have to bribe him with beer once in a while.

You might want to marker "cut here" on his scalp, prior to cutting!

Elizabeth, I am at work, eating lunch at my desk, and reading the forum. I just about choked at your comment because it was so funny!

In the show, they used a chisel, a hammer, and a drill....Once I get the "mark", it will be very easy! LOL Just not sure the proper process!

Well, of course our families think that we are all real pains! LOL But I am sure that if I were to ask them, they would say no.

Mary, glad I gave you the opportunity to look nutty in front of your co-workers! Happens to me all the time, when I read this forum at work. I can never adequately explain what is so darn funny to anyone else!

I am cracking up at the "Cut here" LOL!

Suzan - sounds like Bryan is on a roll!

I made it to New Orleans finally!!! All the folks that are at this conference got here much earlier so I am on my own for the night. Right now sitting with the laptop reading the forum is my speed - I am beat!

I bet you are exhausted, Kathy. You have had a busy few days. Hope you can get some rest, do whatever you HAVE to do, and then enjoy the sites!

Have a great time once the work is behind you!

Thanks Gigi! Had a great time talking with the bartender/cook at the hotel bar/eatery. Found out about some great places to check out after "work" :)
