Rotating objects

Is there any way to move the centre of rotation in an object ?

Yesterday I wanted to rotate an object pivoting it on one corner but couldn't see if there was any way to do it.

Maybe you have found a solution by now, however I am not quite sure what your are trying to achieve. Can you share a couple of screenshots of your shape and explanation on how you want to change it?

In Inkscape the axis can be moved anywhere inside an object and I had an oblong shape at the time that I wanted to rotate round the top left hand corner. I was trying to get round a problem that I since realised was due a skewed cut.

Anyway to cut a long story short it doesn't matter anymore.

I did contact Craftedge support but as I have found previously with other queries and reported bugs there has been no reply forthcoming.

Hi,
If I understand you correctly, it looks like you want Duplicate Rotated function. Go to Object---->Duplicate Rotated. Rotating on an axis can be accomplished by adjusting the H offset and/or V offset. Good luck!
BTW, the CraftEdge forum is a good resource for SCAL assistance as well.

Thanks,

Tried to do that but it just seems to make a duplicate of the object on the mat.
Not really what I wanted though.

I just wanted to rotate the object using one corner as the axis. The object at the time was some cutting lines and I wanted to see how much I was rotating them.

Anyway, it's a moot point now, but thanks anyway.
